  1. A pig is any even-toed hoofed MAMMAL of the 
  2. family Suidae. They are omnivorous, and have 
  3. simple, non-ruminating stomachs and thick 
  4. hides. The Middle Eastern wild boar Sus 
  5. scrofa is the ancestor of domesticated 
  6. breeds, it is 1½m (4½ft) long and 1m (3ft) 
  7. high, with formidable tusks, but not 
  8. naturally aggressive.
